Eero Ojanen, piano; Teemu Hauta-aho, bass.
Duo Nueva Finlandia is comprised of pianist Eero Ojanen and bassist
Teppo Hauta-aho who have both represented the top of Finnish modern
jazz since the early 1960s. After playing together much of the 1960s
and early 1970s, they went their separate ways. In early 1990s,
Ojanen and Hauta-aho again started playing as a duo and as members
of Trio Nueva Finlandia. This recording is a result of an impromptu
session held in June 1998. In a way the music can be called improvised
music at its purest: no recording engineer, no written music, no
preconceived notions of what the music is going to be. Just two
musicians with their instruments in a room with two recording devices
and two microphones ready to capture the moment.
Short stories was recorded at Opera Studios in Helsinki, Finland
in June 1998. The Recording was mixed and masterd by Henrik Otto
Donner and Esa Santonen at DER in Tammisaari, Finland.
